A men’s wear moment swept over Donatella Versace’s pre-fall collection, where traditional tailoring motifs were taken in a — no surprises here — sexy direction. Houndstooth was shown big, as a blown out blue and black pattern on a fuzzy angora sweater worn over a lace mini, and small —miniature, in fact — on the insets of a black leather biker jacket and a dress with a short flared skirt. Blue was the dominant color throughout, aside from a single red look: a wool toggle coat with a patent hood and a kicky skirt. There was a schoolgirl charm to it, minus the mean black leather thigh-high boots that accessorized each look.
