Vionnet owner and creative director Goga Ashkenazi injected a fresh, contemporary twist into the brand’s well-executed pre-fall collection, which celebrates the French house’s signature codes. Bias cuts, which Ashkenazi called “the biggest gift that Madeleine Vionnet gave to the fashion world,” were omnipresent in the lineup, which focused on sophisticated tunics in a wide range of fabrics, including draped silk, comfortable jersey and knitted wool. There were also several outerwear pieces, including more severe, minimal cashmere coats and opulent astrakhan styles with kidassia fur details.

The elegant eveningwear included a fluid floor-length silk dress in a tulle pattern inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ textile works.
