The pre-fall offerings at Grace MMXIII revolved around the clean silhouettes that the eveningwear-focused contemporary label — owned by Erik Torstensson and Jens Grede of the Saturday Group — has been developing since its fall 2014 debut. But this season, sleek dresses and skinny crepe tuxedos — normally in black or white — also came in a deep red, while silk designs, such as a fluid shirtdress, were done in a subtle snow leopard print.
Otherwise, black dominated, as in a mini tank dress with patches of fringe and a jacquard strapless dress studded with a row of octagonal-shaped metallic buttons. Looking ahead, Grede said to watch for more design and color for fall 2015. “It’s just an elevation from where we have been,” he noted. “I think we’re [going to be] becoming more directional than we have been in the past.”
