An easy, youthful feel reverberated through the daywear looks in Dennis Basso’s pre-fall lineup: a mix of tweed separates, stretch-crepe jumpsuits, sweater Ts, wool skirts and, because this is Basso, fur, which he also infused with a bit of whimsy. Envisioning “an uptown girl who doesn’t mind taking a walk downtown,” the designer combined furs in unusual and impressive ways, as in a chinchilla-and-sable vest with alpaca fur tweeded throughout for a fringelike effect.

For evening, most silhouettes were sleek, notably the Champagne-hued bias-cut velvet gown styled with a sueded, oversize mink coat that oozed effortless glamour.
