Artisanal floor tiles in a turn-of-the-century Majorcan mansion guided Adrian Runhof and Johnny Talbot for pre-fall. “It was surprising how modernist the colors and patterns were,” Runhof said.

The duo worked the inspiration with a bold hand, translating, for example, the florals they found underfoot into a colorful mélange for silk satin shirtdresses with a relaxed fit. Small beaded squares paired with flower embroidery on a shirt provided a different take on the same idea.

For evening, the designers amped up their textural play, offering 3-D brocades, lamés, and the chic combination of a knit top in a geometric motif with a shimmering ball skirt.
