Redemption Choppers went full throttle with its “biker-chic” mantra for pre-fall. The brand’s creative duo, Gabriele Moratti and Daniele Sirtori, put an increased focus on leather, which looked appealing on cigarette pants or a dressy trenchcoat hybrid. It read as dowdy, though, when used in combination with a shimmering macramé fabric that appeared on the back of a long, heavy dress coat, on the sleeves of classic biker jackets, and on miniskirts.
Sexy and chic is not an easy balance, yet there were flickers of success. Cue a fitted varsity jacket made from a spongy technical fabric, or a simple ensemble consisting of a black plissé skirt and matching secretary blouse.
