Dion Lee wanted to amp up two major categories in his first pre-fall collection: day and outerwear. For the latter, he emphasized cool, oversize silhouettes in luxe textural treatments, such as a roomy, burgundy wool boucle coat and a Mongolian fur jacket. Lee’s daywear skews sexy. He gave it substance via technical fabrics, working a series of sculptural red dresses with sheer cutouts in scubalike triple jersey. Moving away from the body-con shapes, an off-the-shoulder minidress in a black wool organza fell away from the body beautifully.
