Naeem Khan loves to use his hands. His pre-fall collection of mostly gowns featuring hand-embroideries and vibrant florals crafted from various couture-like techniques. It was all about applying texture, surface decoration and color to glamorous yet easy silhouettes. Embellishments included hand-sewn ultrasuede patchwork on a long, sleek silk gown, and silk organza flowers embroidered on a beautiful, lean organza coatdress. One of the strongest looks was a matching cape and minidress combo done in a quirky galaxy embroidery of the cosmos. These youthful alternatives to traditional eveningwear dominated the collection. Yet Khan still had to consider his red-carpet fare, dreamed up a billowy metallic gold foiled gown for a big Cinderella moment.
