Climate control was a major focus for the pre-fall season for Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. Not in terms of saving the environment, but having the right stock in store for the weather. The lineup was light and full of transitional layers that incorporated athletic references — baseball and track, specifically. A chicly sporty strapless jumpsuit had a track-pant stripe down the side. Crisp blue-and-white striped shirts — one a button-down, another off the shoulder — were a subtle hybrid of old-school baseball uniforms and classic men’s shirts. Tidy jackets included a suede bomber and there were cropped, wide-leg pants in denim. Wainwright said that going forward, collections will reflect the increasingly global nature of their business. “It makes you think about the temperature and the world,” he said. “We have to have everything at all times.”
