Tracy Reese views pre-fall as a little darker and more mysterious than the thick of summer. “We were all about rich colors this season,” she said of her jewel-toned lineup of dresses, blouses and skirts in shades of green, violet, burgundy and olive, with some looks featuring lingerie-inspired lace accents.

 

Still, Reese kept summer temperatures in mind, balancing the dark palette with light, fluid silhouettes and fabrics. The metallic, transparent layering pieces introduced on her spring runway were back for pre-fall in a sweatshirt, motorcycle jacket and circle skirt giving an arty effect to the looks. A pair of textured silk and linen fil coupé dresses featuring a leaf motif felt the most traditional transitional in terms of weather.
