Piazza Sempione’s pre-fall collection was infused with a more fashionable twist.
The internal design team updated the brand’s traditional sporty-chic aesthetic by working on more modern and versatile silhouettes for an urban yet elegant and discreet look. A soft double-face cashmere fabric, with one of its faces striped, was crafted for an oversized hooded parka with a cool attitude. Slim-fit pants layered under pleated two-tone skirts, while slightly flared trousers matched with skinny turtlenecks and masculine shirts. While a tuxedo with wide-leg pants conveyed a mannish look, an embroidered silk slipdress was hyper-feminine in its simplicity. A graphic approach ran through the whole lineup, which included stripes, micro geometric motifs, as well as abstract patterns — both jacquard and printed — harking back to the graffiti-inspired works of the late American artist Cy Twombly.
As it repositions in international markets, with pre-fall, Piazza Sempione took a significant step toward defining a style that remains laid-back in its sophistication but also keeps current fashion trends top-of-mind.
