Inspired by jaunts to Bali, Cuba and the Maldives, Matthew Williamson said he tapped into his “escapist sensibilities” for resort, channeling the idea into a collection of color-drenched designs meant to span hot and cool climes. For the former, there were girlish, short silk smock dresses done in dégradé shades of pink and orange, and a floor-length, navy organza T-shirt dress hand-embroidered with a butterfly wing motif. More wintry fare included a double-breasted, belted jacket done in a basket-weavelike pink and black jacquard that came frayed and textured at the sleeves. There was also an oversize pale mint jersey and organza sweater, knitted in a pattern that resembled snakeskin.
