Inspired by the elegant lines and punchy palette of Miami’s Art Deco district, Amanda Wakeley’s laid-back collection was filled with easy shapes and architectural details. Jumpsuits — a Wakeley signature — were adorned with shiny silver details and spidery thin straps. Liquid satin evening gowns in steamy shades of chartreuse or dark pink were light enough to be rolled and stuffed into a suitcase destined for sun-kissed climes.
Other silhouettes included supple leather trousers and boxy boyfriend cashmere sweaters, their sleeves lined in satin. The designer also spliced fitted cashmere knits with silk animal-print panels for another take on the collection’s tropical flavor.
