For her first resort collection, Christina Economou, a new designer based in Athens, Greece, drew inspiration from an exhibition she saw in London that featured childlike lines and colors. “The idea was to do something young and fresh, but still sophisticated,” Economou said. She worked with the Paris-based designer and illustrator Calla Haynes to develop two disparate prints in pale pink, turquoise and white that grounded the collection nicely when worked onto easy silk dresses, culottes, cropped tops and blouses. A series of rompers and overall shorts conveyed the playfulness she was after. The lineup also included swimwear in minimalist, sporty shapes with quirky face prints.
