Josie Natori sticks to what she does best — and has the following to prove it. Her ready-to-wear collection has become a one-stop shop for the refined lady in search of ease. Shift dresses, fit-and-flare styles, tapered pants and that great staple, the topper coat, are key seasonless styles chez Natori.
This season, the brush strokes of calligraphy inspired an ikat embroidery pattern that graced dresses, such as a pink style with gray and white thread work, as well as toppers. Another fabric in Natori’s wheelhouse is knit jersey, which she fashioned into a sporty black-and-white graphic tunic and cropped pant — a fresh look for the designer, perhaps to address the new customers she has been cultivating in her recently opened Elizabeth Street store in New York City’s NoLIta.
