Prabal Gurung had several things in mind when designing his resort collection, including a trip to Belize, the design concepts laid out in his fall collection and the realities of November/December delivery. He infused the easy, lean silhouettes he established last season with Belizean floral prints and colors, which are not as tropical as one might think — berry, dark sand and navy — and worked the theme two ways: one for winter in the city; one for a warm weather escape from it.

 

It was a complete lineup, with a lot of strong, simple shapes derived from his fall offering, such as spare, long-sleeved dresses — short and long — with curvy transparent hems; and tailored sheaths and cropped trousers luxed up in leather.
