“It’s such a long window, and it’s got to have everything,” said Rachel Comey of her chic, eclectic resort collection that lands at retail from November to May. She introduced a few new fabrics for the season — having recently spent a month at a mill in Italy — including a series of looks in a shimmering metallic Lurex rayon blend for a pared-down take on holiday dressing. Slinky, bodycon silhouettes in rayon ribbed jersey and allover lace dresses in black and red took the collection in a more feminine direction. Elsewhere, oversize corduroy outerwear and colorful hand-crochet tops evoked a Seventies feel, as did her new plays on denim, done in grungy acid washes and embellished flares. “I had a little nostalgia moment,” Comey said. “But in general, I don’t work so strongly with themes. I try to crave things and design into them.”
