Sharon Wauchob reaffirmed her knack for lace, giving it an alluring intellectual spin for resort. Loosely inspired by Pina Bausch’s use of vintage costumes to create individual personalities in her choreography, Wauchob used a plethora of bespoke French laces in modern geometric scribbles — as in ultrathin silk fringe on a bias-cut skirt and lingerie robe dresses, all of which exuded a strong sensuality. “I wanted to look at lace in a modern way, not to be obvious and girly,” said Wauchob, who experimented with texture on a moire-esque lace and Calais lace done with chenille thread. The softness carried over to tailoring on unlined fluid jackets, some with asymmetric cuts, and roomy pajama pants.
