Goga Ashkenazi imagined a modern garden for Vionnet resort. “I wanted to create an organic feel, combining it with the brand’s heritage geometric elements and angles,” she said. Case in point: Images of mimosas printed and then embroidered on a bomber jacket, shown with a plissé leather skirt containing printed silk inserts, or on a fluid pleated gown cinched at the waist with a striped elastic band. Botanicals also bloomed via the childlike drawing of a vase with flowers printed on a caftan-like gown (the season’s big silhouette), and the budlike pompoms decorating a plissé-sleeved, yellow cotton canvas coat and a black tank top.
Along with Vionnet’s signature draped evening dresses, the lineup included a range of tunics layered over fluid pants and, for the tailored-oriented client, suits featuring roomy jackets.
