A few words came to Kimora Lee Simmons’ mind when designing resort: “all-American exotic — just like me,” she said, during a preview of the collection. This season, she evolved the tastefully body-hugging dresses and sensual tailoring — two consistent themes of the label — to include looser silhouettes, takes on blue and white striped men’s shirting and festive decoration, including tribal and insect (think bees and bugs) embroideries.

 

Infusing the lineup with a crisp, casual elements gave it a younger, more playful spirit, embodied by the designer’s 13- and 16-year-old daughters Aoki and Ming Lee Simmons. Ming was making her modeling debut in the resort look book.
