Rendered mostly in dusty pastels, Raquel Allegra’s resort lineup featured updated takes on sleepwear, for both day and night. For the daytime hours, she offered tie-dyed shirtdresses in ribbed silk — many of her sweet, bohemian styles riffing on nightgowns — as well as fluid drawstring jumpsuits and lace-up cotton tunic dresses. Soft blouses, tunics and reversible blazers were decorated with wood-block prints and new, experimental tie-dyes, a few mimicking Rorschach patterns.
To take her girl to the party, Allegra offered an elegant black slipdress with shoulder ties and a few tie-dyed velvet separates in deep purple — including a long trenchcoat — which imparted a trippy, festive Sixties vibe. Knits, too, were given tie-dye and dip-dye treatments. The highlight was a hunter green turtleneck grandpa sweater with a dégradé pattern, resembling the rainbow colors of an oil slick.
