With fall retail-delivery times (and weather) in mind, Lyndsey Butler approached resort for Veda pragmatically, designing a wide-ranging collection — one that displayed shearling leather coats and down puffers next to slinky, lightweight pieces like silk pinstripe or ribbed knit dresses and double-faced satin trousers and camisoles. Ideal for layering, they conveyed an easy elegance.
But Butler also had some fun with her lineup — “resort is a good time to test things,” she said. Case in point: A series of looks that took on a Rastafarian vibe, as in a black leather motorcycle jacket with striped red, yellow and green knit sleeves, along with space-dyed yarn sweaters. Such bright pops of color, a nod to the paintings of Colombian artist Ana Mercedes Hoyos, livened up the mostly muted palette of the lineup.
