For resort, Isabel Marant worked her signature, hefty-shouldered silhouettes into an easy and stylish lineup that verged on romantic. Airy floral prints ticked the season’s must-have list — violets on an airy, cotton voile blouse. It had a puffed-out shoulder and a tall, ruffle-rimmed collar; the same cut was used for a graphic, zebra-like pattern in a more masculine version.
Dresses were also fluid and feminine, but resolutely modern — one draped number in a stretchy silk came with squiggly ink scribbles in pink, purple and green against a white background, giving it an updated Eighties feel. Also hailing from the Eighties was a handsome asymmetric dress, off the shoulder on one side while the other was long-sleeved — all black, embellished with only a few rhinestones.
More unique pieces in this comfy-while-super fashionable collection: a white and yellow tiger print work shirt in boiled wool, a felted green top with voluminous sleeves and a lengthy, acid-washed jean coat with no collar, lined with fake rabbit fur. A lot of potential top sellers here.
