In her latest bridal collection, Anne Barge conjured up an early spring garden, one in which the plants and flowers are beginning to stir — but still bear the touches of that final frost.
So how did Barge bring her garden to life? With layers of the softest pastels, floral appliqués and delicate lace. To suggest the last gasp of winter, she also worked cascading pearls and icy crystals in the most delicate of trellislike embroidery along necklines and across bodices.
Silhouettes ran the gamut from a sexy corset mermaid number to a frothy high-low frock. Overall, though, the gowns were timeless and elegant. Clearly, romance — along with spring — was in the air.
