With 10 models wearing wigs à la Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Tfank gave quite a nod to the actress and her movie career. “I wanted to use very modern fabrics in silhouettes that evoked her movie star glamour without getting nostalgic,” explained the designer. And she succeeded with circle-skirted party dresses, sheaths and three-quarter coats over capri pants in luxurious cotton and silk brocades. Simpler, but just as impressive, were the slashed cutout dresses in beige rayon jersey or white silk. Tfank knows how to balance her luxurious ladylike style with the romance of old Hollywood and still make it all look fresh.
