Luca Luca’s creative director, Raul Melgoza, offered a pretty general source of inspiration for spring: “the sensuality and femininity of a strong woman.” A Forties Hollywood starlet vacationing in Havana might have been more fitting, especially given the airy white tuxedo dress and pops of bright lime green and turquoise throughout. The collection featured plenty of draped and tucked silk (chiffon, charmeuse, gabardine), and monochromatic whites and blacks filtered in with bold patterns, the latter sometimes mixed to overload, i.e., the turquoise striped jacket and royal blue dotted pants. It was the softer, simpler looks that worked best, such as the white tunic blouse paired with a black tulip slit skirt embroidered with brightly colored rosettes.
