What would one wear to an urban picnic? Lyn Devon imagined a wardrobe fit for the occasion with her spring collection, which was definitely for the woman whose picnic is catered by Zanzibar. That’s to say it was a thoroughly polished look, casual attire for those who don’t do casual, with ample color, too — poppy, sky blue, lime green and silver. There were silk dresses done in basket-weave prints, pleated skirts that fell below the knee and a luxe ode to denim, which consisted of cropped “jeans” and shorts done in bright, supersoft leather. Perhaps most interesting and impressive about this lineup was that while it sprung from a rather quaint concept — dressing for a picnic? — Devon used it to show some of her coolest looks yet: the body-conscious swimsuit dresses with cutouts at the sides and back, and the spongy cropped sweaters worn with flared skirts, which were daring in a ladylike way.
