Recent time spent on Isla Mujeres — Mexico’s “Island of Women” — provided the design impetus for Christian Siriano’s spring, which was heavy on flowers, eyelet and ostrich feathers. There were appliqué petals on a floral organza dress, and one gown was covered entirely in the feathers. If those pieces didn’t provide sensory overload, Siriano made a statement with a bold Op Art black-and-white zigzag pattern, which he used for a cropped jacket and skirt and a shift dress.
His simpler pieces were his best, particularly a white brocade gown with a sheer neckline that was pretty and could well work for a bride.
