Marie-Christine Statz’s luxury-infused contemporary line is manufactured in France, something she said she’s proud of as it allows her to control the quality on every level. This season her Gauchère collection was loosely inspired by the work of Op Art artists Julio Le Parc and Victor Vasarely, challenging the designer to work with different techniques on leather such as the embossing and weaving that came on the fitted bodice of dresses and a jumpsuit mixed with coated linen. A fine effort.
