Julien Macdonald dialed down the eye-searing sparkle of past collections and ramped up the romantic mood with dresses — long and short — covered in embroidered tulle. There was still the odd twinkle here and there: on a short, fluttery sleeve, on the sheer panels of an oyster-colored dress or inside the web of a gold crocheted dress.
It was a quieter glamour that stood out, however, as in curve-hugging dresses embellished with flowers, phoenixes and hummingbirds in shades of raspberry and China blue.
