Australian designer Kym Ellery focused on demonstrative tailoring and juxtaposed textures for her collection, which drew inspiration from abstract artist Jean Arp. There were pairings of tweed trousers and a lace shirt, or a silk dress with featherlike fringes along the hem, for instance. Ellery played with proportions, such as billowy silhouettes and oversize bell sleeves. Standout pieces in this well-executed collection featured elegantly draped bodices.
