Destination: Mexico. That’s where Yurika Ohara and Steven Hall headed this season, attempting to modernize the country’s “aesthetic sense.”
Their efforts produced a colorful lineup of wearable clothes. Prints of tropical flowers, cacti, paint splatters and stripes adorned shrunken jackets, minidresses and shorts. There were some cute pieces, including a leaf-printed shirtdress. But given the vast cultural heritage of the country that inspired this collection — especially its art and folk traditions — this show lacked a certain wow factor.
