For inspiration, Yasutoshi Ezumi turned to biomimicry, an emerging science that imitates forms found in nature, such as natural cooling systems and medicinal plants, to solve human problems. In that spirit, he staged his presentation at celebrity florist Nicolai Bergmann’s flagship and emphasized accessible clothes in fabrics such as silk and cotton blends.
The designer, who recently repositioned his brand in the contemporary space, also incorporated a generous amount of lace and an abstract floral pattern into the mix. There were some feminine, flattering pieces — A-line skirts and dresses, wide-leg trousers and trenchcoats — while edgier looks featured asymmetric draping, such as a color-blocked top in black, white and blue, shown with blue pants.
