Callens keeps driving ath-leisure to the pinnacle of luxury, with an added dose of fashion.
Here, leggings are patchworks of nubuck leather and jersey, some ending in a kick flare; hoodies and track pants are a mélange of silk satin, fine jersey and mesh; and bomber jackets come in black and navy waterproof jersey, or the finest calfskin.
“A lot of it is real performance wear, without showing it off,” said creative director Paul Helbers. “It’s about traveling beautifully, and arriving perfectly.”
Now in its third season, Callens is the brainchild of Claire-Anne Stroll, wife of industry tycoon Lawrence Stroll, and the line is already in many top department stores in Europe and North America. Like many designers in Milan, Helbers injected a dance theme for spring, seen in wrap tops and ballet-pink hues.
