It was all about the Escada woman at the house’s spring 2016 outing. She’s social, she travels and she’s involved in the arts — and the collection endeavored to reflect her worldly lifestyle. Day dresses, for example, offered versatility. A white belted fit and flare would be appropriate for a stroll along the Riviera as well as for a lunch date in New York or Paris, while a black tiered shirtdress could easily be that “anytime, anywhere” dress every woman needs in her wardrobe.
Shape mattered for this season: Generously cut culottes came in white perforated leather paired with a white wrap shirt, and a sky blue silk crepe version was shown with a matching blazer. A carnation floral print set a springlike tone in a maxiskirt and a wide-leg pants and jacket combo. But it was the beautiful yellow empire gown that made us want to go places — preferably someplace sunny and luxurious.
