Francesca Liberatore’s spring collection explored the human heart and all of its facets. If that meant simply having heart-and-valve artwork indiscreetly printed and bedazzled on practically every look, then she succeeded. Her range of silk chiffon, tulle, lace and knit daywear, done in a palette of primarily orange and black, was a bit hard to digest. The hand-drawn hearts felt gimmicky, and evening offerings were particularly risqué and difficult to imagine in a public setting.

The few highlights were her more tailored looks: a structured white vest and pinstripe minidress combo that took its cues from men’s suiting, and a fresh take on a classic white button-down shirt featuring a wrapped torso.
