This family-owned factory in Tuscany that specializes in all things leather has developed its own Drome brand under the artistic direction of Marianna Rosati, daughter of owner and founder Ferrero Rosati. The label excels at manipulating leather to make it look as soft and versatile as woven fabric.
For spring, Rosati was in a vacation state of mind, using a touch of exotica and graphic modernism to interpret Brazilian landscapes. Colorblocking and bold stripes were mixed with fringe or pleated paneled skirts for a clean tribal look, while laser-cut textures were applied to simple tops or ultrasupple suede robe coats, T-shirts and casual pants that looked as soft as jersey.
It’s not an easy task to create an entire spring and summer wardrobe from leather, but Drome is doing a fine job making the material seasonless.
