Sun and shine were the guiding forces of Paul & Joe’s spring collection. What wasn’t emblazoned with a palm leaf or palm tree print, flashed with some kind of embroidered sparkle or silver metallic finish. The palms put a summer beachy balm on sundresses, swimwear and sporty separates, while silver leather, sequins and floral embroidery boosted basic shifts and denim pieces.

Maybe a Havana reference could be gleaned from the printed retro shirts worn with oversize loan-shark suits. Maybe not. What was for certain was this: Though the collection didn’t have directional drive, it fully satisfied the balance of trends and staples demanded by the contemporary market.
