Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia was in an artisanal mood for spring. The Taiwanese designer applied her skill to lace, working the delicate fabric beautifully on lingerie-style dresses of various lengths as well as tops and even culottes.
The designer embroidered other numbers with floral motifs and carefully gathered tulle strings — which made them look like lace from afar — and also offered up a retro-tinged dressing gown that combined printing, lace appliqués and fine embroidery to great visual effect, giving the pieces a 3-D texture.
A series of contrasting silhouettes mixed different periods — Twenties sheaths, Fifties petticoats and Sixties A-line minis — suggesting indecision, although the craftsmanship was lovely.
