Anna Molinari found her sweet spot for spring, injecting her signature girlish flirtations with Latin American folk flourishes — and a young, citified attitude. It was one of her most balanced, relevant collections in recent memory, opening with a sweeping black parachute parka over a white lace dress and black stretch stirrup pants. Many of looks came topped with gaucho hats and exaggerated tassel earrings. The lineup wound through variations on pink-and-white striped men’s shirting cut as flouncy off-the-shoulder tops, cropped pants and a maxidress. And then came rose-embroidered tulle dresses, breezy pom-pommed caftans, tiered white lace and multicolored striped stretch knits. There was a charming, oddball nomadic spirit to some of the more colorful looks, while graphic black-and-white striped pieces and solid tailoring grounded other bohemian styles in reality.
