For spring, Nili Lotan zeroed in on creating a wardrobe that transcended age, gender and lifestyle. The Kardashian-Jenner clan has adopted Lotan as one of its go-to designers of late, having been spotted in her silk cami dresses and skirts; Gigi Hadid is also a fan. “To see everyone from Inez van Lamsweerde to Gigi wearing [my collection] — and then also Kabir, my 25-year-old male p.r. manager — to me, that is so cool,” she said. “Each one of us has our own lifestyle.” Lotan didn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel on any of her designs this season, with the collection feeling more like an assemblage of her greatest hits. That said, there was plenty to covet here. Inspired by the beaches of Tel Aviv, where she spent most of her summer weekends, Lotan kept her palette clean and neutral, punctuated by shades of indigo and an emphasis on stripes. Lace-up cashmere knits and chambray shirting paired well with Lotan’s tomboyish wide-leg jeans and carpenter pants, and her relaxed shirtdresses captured the borrowed-from-the-boyfriend vibe that permeated the entire collection. Her denim category continues to evolve since launching for resort; this season, the offering included limited-edition vintage styles, which Lotan reworked with patchwork and distressing.
