Isabel Marant Étoile is the designer’s laid-back line for her namesake label, meant to be comfortable and easy.
Marant conveyed this ease through faded colors and an eclectic mix of styles — using light floral fabric from places like Indonesia or India, or reproducing a French pattern from the 19th century.
The collection was infused with Western influences, in the form of a faded and fringed jean shirt and bright red cowboy booties with silver tips. Jeans were offered in a wide range of colors — washed-out red or black, or a classic acid wash. Models ranged as well, from high waisted or low slung, roomy and most often rolled up at the bottoms.
A light purple sweater with a splash of blue and pink was marked ‘Marant.’ Another snapshot of the Marant universe, the collection was feminine with no preciousness, comfortably sexy and ultimately very fashionable.
