Several designers and founders of New York-made businesses will be honored at the Oct. 25 gala.
WWD, Variety and the CFDA’s event drew Alison Brie, Olivia Munn, Serayah and more; Vera Wang shared that the red carpet “changed my business.”
The event at the Chateau Marmont served as the launch for the trio’s “Runway to Red Carpet” initiative.
Having once competed as a junior elite figure skater, Vera Wang has dressed such athletes as Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan, and the designer will suit up Olympian Nathan Chen at this month’s Winter Games.
Vera Wang will help to launch the event as a guest host and speaker at the Feb. 20 Chateau Marmont luncheon.
China Institute chairman Chien Chung Pei described Vera Wang as “really the pioneering Chinese fashion designer — completely international but with Chinese roots.”
